We've had quite a bit of activity in the past week and have blown
away several records including, the Top of the Heap, the World
Ultralight DXing Distance Record. That was held for over a month by
our illustrious Ultrafounder, Gary DeBock.... 5201 miles from
Puyallup, WA to HLCA-972, Dangjin, South Korea(Seoul)
11/22/2007(SRF-59). Well, Gary has had to step aside. The new record
is 5424 miles now held by Allen Willie, St. John's, NF. He
heard BSKSA-1521, Duba, Saudi Arabia on 1/4/2008 with a SRF-37V, barefoot!

Rob Ross actually paused in his Ultralight DXing long enough to
submit for a few very nice new distance records, though I'm convinced
that he is qualified for several more.... darn guy just won't quit
DXing long enough to submit for records.

Gil Stacy down in Savannah has continued his march through the
Caribbean, recording several First ultralight receptions from some of
the island nations, and establishing two new distance records at
10,000 watts.

There are several other changes in the standings this week.... read
through the entire list a your leisure. An almost up-to-date list is
in the new issue od DXM, the IRCA bulletin . You can also find it,
even more up to date (today's entries) at the Ultralight Radio files
area on dxer.ca. at
http://www.dxer.ca/component/option,com_docman/task,cat_view/gid,87/Itemid,77/
I might add that there are a treasure-trove of other articles of
interest to Ultralighters at that site.

Right now, there are very few records in the List for receptions with
Super-Modified Ultralight Radios. We are actually keeping records
for two classes of radios.... Barefoot UltraLights and SuperModified
Ultralight Radios. The Super-Modified class of radio is a recognized
Ultralight receiver that has been modified or supplemented in any
way.... such as inductively coupling it to a large antenna, a tuned
loop, etc., or modifying it in any way, mechanically or
electrically. So, if you are DXing with some modification, take the
time to look over the current records, your log book may be full of
record-setting catches that we don't know about!

Submissions for Firsts and Records should be in an e-mail that is
titled to give me a hint of the Submission and can be posted here or
sent to me directly at [EMAIL PROTECTED] They may be made at
any time. For the next several months, at least, I intend to update
the list each Monday and post it to DXer.ca. About monthly, we will
likely submit it to Phil for the bulletin.

I'll inform this group when a new Records List goes up on DXer.ca

Send in those record loggings!!!
