Hello All,

If you were considering a purchase of the Sangean DT-220V
AM-FM-stereo-TV receiver for its AM-DX capability, you may wish to look
elsewhere.

A poor-performing DT-220V arrived today, and was promptly subjected to
a cold-turkey "quick and dirty alignment," which brought up sensitivity a
little, but still way below the other qualifiers (SRF-T615, DT-180V, DT-210V,
and C.Crane SWP. The poor sensitivity appears to be a design problem, and as
such, it will be dropped from the 2008 Shootout. Even its FM-stereo
performance appears to be substandard. This confirms the general impressions
of many
regretful purchasers, and it's a mystery why Sangean is selling this for
$56.54 (Amazon). Maybe the built-in stereo ear buds make Sangean think it's
cute? Anyway, save your $$$, and if you want something DX-capable, you
certainly
don't want this.

                         73, Gary DeBock
