In looking at Dr. Xin's site, he reviews the SRF-S83 as being the heir
apparent to the SRF-59 for sound quality on FM, but notes that it is no more
sensitive than the 59. It also uses the CXA1129N chip. He later states
that it has been re-packaged into the SRF-S84. In looking at the internal
photos of the radio board in addition to the 30 pin chip and amp chip shared
by the 59, there's a 14 pin IC that is not in the 59 or it's ancestors.
There also appears what I believe to be 4 very robust smd diodes that don't
exist in the 59's circuit. There are two glass body leaded diodes in the 59.

As Gary has mentioned, this radio is available from Amazon for $99, but
ebay's Hong Kong stores has it in the $20 range plus $12-14 shipping costs.
Has anyone had a chance to try this rx?
