Have measured the current draw of my SRF-59 as being only about 20mA or a bit less on AM, so the single AA cell should last well over 100 hours as Sony claims. Must be close to that now in fact on my first one, the one which makes cracking noises as being tuned. On FM the current draw is about 25 mA so expect about 100 hours of battery life from a fresh alkaline cell rated at about 2500 mA hours. Am how enjoying my second SRF-59 sans any cracking sounds provided gratis by a not so secret program to provide them for Canadians (thanks Gary!) And due to Gary's alignment skills, is much more sensitive than the first one- can receive 10 kW Regina-620 on daytime groundwave here in Calgary (about 600 miles) 73, Deane McIntyre VE6BPO _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
