Hi Guys:
Well....after waiting for 23 LONG Days.......my New SONY SRF-T615
Ultralite radio arrived today at 1400 EST from AUDIO CUBES in JAPAN!!
Yippppeeeee......I have been on pins and needles since Jan/01 when I
ordered this Tiny Little Marvel. I could hardly open the package fast enough.
This thing is much smaller than the SRF-59....it is thinner...and weighs
less. Uses 2 AAA Batteries....instead of 1 AA Battery.
This Radio is ONLY available from JAPAN....as far as I can see
.....couldn't find it anywhere in North America. Cost $105.00 USA Dollars
.....which included 16 Bucks shipping from JAPAN. If today is an indication
of what the radio will do....It is a good $105 Bucks spent!!
Arrived in Great shape after the long flight from Japan.....and everything
is working fine. So at about 1420 EST today....I started to DX with
it.....during Daylight Hours!!
All I can say is WOW!!!!! This is Everything that is packed into the
SRF-59........but includes DIGITAL READOUT, MEMORIES, and more!!
I listened for about 4 Hours this afternoon....and the only words I can use
to describe this Listening session is...........Unbelievably CRAZY!!! I
said from the start that if I had an SRF-59 with a DIGITAL READOUT....I
could cleanup on the DX......well.....I now have just that in the
SRF-T615...and if today is any indication......this is gonna be like
shooting Fish in a Barrell.
During this 4 Hour session...here is what the T615 dragged outta the
Mud.........
14 NEW Stns for the ULTRALITE LOG.
6 of these are NEW to my OVERALL LOG.
NEBRASKA........NEW STATE # 31 on ULTRALITE RADIO.
a Bunch of Mid-Southern Lower Powered Stations.
This session brings my Ultralite Station Totals to 232 Stations heard.
Also have some UNIDS.........if anyone has any ideas on these...Please let
me know!!

like this Radio!!!
Anyone who is considering ordering one of these.....the Only Negative I can
give it is......
It is NOT AS Good as the SRF-59 in Knocking down Splatter from CLOSE LOCALS.
The SRF-59 is Very Tight....this is not as good..and bleeds over on my 3
Locals, depending
on station strength of adjacent channel.
The Nulling capabilities of this radio are EXCELLENT....Just like the SRF-59.
The Sensitivity is also EXCELLENT....just like the SRF-59.
With the convenience of the Digital Readout.......I think this Radio Ranks
a little above the SRF-59 in TOTAL Performance!!
