Hi Jim, just a few ideas, thoughts and things to think about.....
No, I am not hearing any CW on top of, or under or connected to WCBS.

What type of CW was it?
1. Is the International Morse?
2. Perhaps it is was the old continental morse?
3. Or maybe it was something the sounded like CW but didn't match any know
letters or numbers?

I have heard all three types in the past 4 months. Mostly on 1020, 1060;
1080 kc. Most is not any know letters or numbers (No it isn't a LID
operator!) All frequencies have known strong Cubans and Mexican stations on
them. Those are only the main frequencies I hear CW on, it shows up at the
craziest times all up and down the band.

Ruling out any images in your radio, it might be some type of code used by
drug dealers or other such persons. Do you remember Radio Swan that
broadcast on 1160 as well as other frequencies? They would do the same
thing. Send what sounded like slow CW, but you needed a code book to know
what they were sending. Back in WWII, the BBC would do similar things.

I hear all kinds of Cubans and Mexicans here, no telling what the boys in
Florida are hearing. They are a lot closer to Latin America than I.
