I could have missed it but I haven't seen where they have actually  
gone up to 10kw (I saw the CP). I think it is unlikely that they were  
signing off but will go back and listen to the tape. Rather, they  
could be following the lead of some other stations which go through a  
ritual of sorts when they cut power. The carrier disappeared but  
whether it was because they signed off or went to 250w is moot. On a  
related matter, from time to time I was getting all three signals  
(KXL KOAL KWHG) and there was no growl; they were all on frequency.

Elsewhere on the local dial, KLFE-1590 is back on frequency and  
KGTK-920 is still overpowered at night.
