I had pretty much given up on hearing LW BCB at my qth.  S/N was just too
much on my antennas--until I tried my ewe which fires towards the Caribbean
at 130 degrees from my location in Savannah GA.  Morocco and France, for
example, are 67 and 49 degrees respectively.  Not the ideal azimuth for a
130 degree ewe it would seem.  However, the side lobes of a ewe are wide and
while pretty lousy for pinpoint directivity are able to dig out Europe and
N. Africa almost nightly.  With most of the US in the quiet  zone of my my
ewe, the favorable S/N ratio allowed reception.
