Dennis, Bill, I had pretty much given up on hearing LW BCB at my qth. S/N was just too much on my antennas--until I tried my ewe which fires towards the Caribbean at 130 degrees from my location in Savannah GA. Morocco and France, for example, are 67 and 49 degrees respectively. Not the ideal azimuth for a 130 degree ewe it would seem. However, the side lobes of a ewe are wide and while pretty lousy for pinpoint directivity are able to dig out Europe and N. Africa almost nightly. With most of the US in the quiet zone of my my ewe, the favorable S/N ratio allowed reception. 73 Gil Drake R8B 18x40x18 ewe, 130 degrees. _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
