In my opinion, the SFR450K is too narrow. If you can get ahold of a SFR450J (can be scavenged from a DX398/ATS909), that would probably be the best one (but I haven't tried it yet). Both of the above are 6-element filters.
Both Gil Statcy and I have had good results with the 4-element SFP450I, which can be scavenged from a junker DX-440/ATS-803A or DX398/ATS909 There is a guy selling SFP450H filters on eBay, but I would avoid those, as they are much too wide (15 kHz) for DXing purposes. Keep in mind that none of these are drop-in replacements for the little stock filter in the SRF-M37V. You have to lay the new filter on its side, and solder wires from its pins to the holes in the circuit board. > SFP450I > SFR450J > ...are supposed to be 6khz I don't really know the specs on these, but the SFR450J is the "narrow" filter and the SFP450I is the "wide" filter on the DX398/ATS909. -- Mesa Mike LA de NM _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
