Hello All,

The tiny 1.75 inch stock loopstick in an SRF-39FP Ultralight radio was
recently replaced by a 6.25 inch transplant from an ICF-S5, resulting in a
HUGE boost in sensitivity, even to the point of making this tiny radio fully
competitive (and possibly more than competitive) with an ICF-2010, ICF-S5W or
other top portables in sensitivity.
Guy Atkins and other DXers will be performing independent "shootouts"
to document the relative performance of this "Super Prison Radio," but you can
read the full technical story (with many interesting photos added by John
Bryant) of this tiny little terror now on dxer.ca, the worldwide headquarters
of the Ultralight Radio revolution.

73 and Great ULR DX to All,

     Gary DeBock
