True, the FCC is not oking any new CPs for the X Band. It was just a
comment. KOHI has always had an issue with QRM, but since the tower
move, their signal is weaker so the QRM is worse, plus Blaine WA is now
on 1600. KOHI has always suffered from QRM from Eugene, even going back
to the late 60s under KASH and they were Top 40 rock. KOHI should have
applied back in the 90s for an X Band channel, as they fit the app very
well. KAST Astoria applied for 1700 (KCHT) and got it, but decided not
to build. They used the money to put on a new FM instead, so they let
1700 go. KOHI would have been great there as the nearest station on
there is Tecate, Mexico.
