750 KHWG NV Fallon. I heard this blazing in in the car on the way home a couple of weeks ago so taped it at home - or at least thought I did. The Marantz "showed" it was recording but the tape was blank, so off the machine went to Superscope for repair. Tonight at 2029 EST, I heard "The mighty 750" followed by a snort. It was in and out of KXL for the next half hour with some ads for Fallon stores at excellent levels. At 2045, I thought I heard KXL change patterns; there was a signal drop, briefly elevating KHWG, and then KXL returned at approximately the same level. KHWG did not rise to the previous levels between then and 2100 but the country music was still there. At 2101 it was under KXL and then proceeded to do what sounded like a signoff, complete with "owned and operated" etc. and this was followed by a choral version of the Star Spangled Banner which ended about 2106. I didn't track it after that. Both KXL and KHWG are shown with 5:30pm PST pattern change times in the FCC database. I would think KHWG's extra half-hour at day power would be useful to some of you seeking this station.
