That is correct. They left WBAL already. The station that actually did the best job with Orioles was the old WFBR 1300 in the late 70's-early 80's. They promoted the heck out of them and created a lot of excitement. Unfortunately their signal stunk but it was nicely supplemented by WTOP-1500 in DC which allowed reception down the coast. WFBR was a truly great radio station. Great programming. Superb local hosts.
The Orioles had great announcers over the years. Chuck Thompson, Bill O'Donnell, Jon Miller. I thought Tom Marr from the WFBR was good too...not that smooth but really got caught up in the action and conveyed real excitement. Ernie Harwell was there in his pre-Tigers day. The current crew is quite weak. It's sad to think about how the franchise has deteriorated from top to bottom.
