Hi Everyone:

I am about to ask a question that I know has been asked here before, so please
forgive me. My memory just isn't what it used to be. Still good, but doesn't
seem to last very long. Must be an age thing!

For the past 15 years or so I have done a lot of unattended DX'ing using a
timer and a cassette recorder. My old Akai deck quit years back and was
replaced by a Sony. Now that too is giving me problems. As good cassette
recorders with all the necessary features I need are very difficult if not
impossible to find these days, I think it is time to try a different approach.
I have a second computer here in the shack and I would like to use that. I have
all the cables, connectors and a suitable soundcard, but what I don't have is
the software. Searching the internet I have found several programs that might
fit my needs, but I'm not sure which one to get. Some time back I seem to
remember someone recommending Total Recorder by HighCriteria. Is this the one
to use? What about Audio Recorder by PDMarq?

Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

Mike in St Isidore, AB
