Got a little extra snoozing in this morning, so didn't expect much when I
checked the radio just after local sunrise, at 1445UT. At that time, 612 was
still delivering reasonable audio, music and talk, and continued, though
getting weaker, until past 1500. The only other audio was on 1575, pretty much
unreadable talk, but also looped DU. Only carrier of note was 1098, also DU.

According to the propagation monitor, 1300 and 1420UT were the best signals
for 612, so it would appear (as Steve R. noted) that I missed a good DU
opening. There seems to have been a reasonable jump in the K index between
1200 and 1500UT, so perhaps this opening isn't as inexplicable as looking at
the 1200UT K-index might indicate.

best wishes,

Nick
