What would a vacation be without DX? We're on Cortes Island in northern
Georgia Strait, and though facing east towards the mainland, there's DX, though
it's vacation style, i.e. being recorded by an SDR-14 and reviewed idly during
the day. This morning, monitoring was between 1050 and 1230UTC, over 605 to
795 kHz, and using a corner fed loop of roughly 30 feet high by 50 feet
across, roughly east-west. The SDR-14 and antenna sounded very splattery,
and there's frequency specific noise here, but the following things poked
through.

pretty darn good audio (at least briefly): none

reasonable audios (though often battling w/splash): 774 man in JJ at 1124UT
(JJ talk by woman at 1050UT, nothing on hour, but EE lessons after the hour.
and a brief blast of quite readable signal at 1119UT previous to this)

not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 702 likely 2BL at
1157UT w/Aussie accented man and woman, 738 Tahiti w/FF sounding talk at 1200
w/monster carrier >740 (also a man talking sounded FF at 1100),

Burbles in the splatter and noise: 639 islandish rhythms at 1115UT, possibly
Fiji; 747 JJ talk by man // 774 at 1117UT; 612 and 792 ( 1200ish and likely
Aussie);

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 612,
657, 756, 792

best wishes,

Nick
