Hi, everyone, from Cannon Beach, OR.  My observations down here don't mirror
John and Nick's at all.  I listened fairly late, however, between 12:10 and
13:17.  Once again with my Sony 2010/80' of random wire on the sand, and a 9:1
matching transformer.  For me it was a mostly Australian morning, with less NZ
activity today.  I'll go over my findings shortly.  The most interesting
morning so far for me, with plenty of audio.  Nothing outstanding strength
wise, but many 7s.

567:  Solid 8 with DU English at 12:38   Radio NZ, Wellington.
576:  DU talk but not until 12:57 at 7 level.  2RN Sydney.
612:  Nothing earlier at all, but a 8 by 12:47 4QR Brisbane.
648:  A weak 6 at 12:23.  A very brief nice signal at 12:56, and again around
13:03 and 13:04 at 7 level with what sounded like English news.  Compatible
with Radio Rhema?
657:  6 level
675:  I reoriented my random wire from W to SSW.  Not sure whether this would
do anything, but at 12:25 a 8 signal with religious sounding vocal.
?Christchurch?
702:  DU English at 12:30 at 7 level.  2BL Sydney.
738:  My most interesting frequency this morning.  At 12:12 fair audio at 7
level in French.  By 12:31 at 8 level still in French with better than usual
modulation.  Now when rechecked later at 12:50, this freq was now in English at
8 level.  ABC news ID at 13:00 at 8+ and still a 7 at 13:12.  2NR Grafton.
774:  8 level with DU English.  Still a 6 to 7 level at 13:07.  ?3LO Melbourne?
891:  8 level with DU english ?news at 12:36.  Still English YL at 13:08.  Is
this usually 4TAB or 5AN??
900:  By accident I happened to sweep across 900 at 12:40 with a nice ID at 9
level as "The talk of Maui".  KNUI.  Great signal for 5 kW!
963:  First audio only noted at 13:08 with EZL oldies.  Same oldies format at
13:13.  7 level.  ?Southern Star network?  Help on this one appreciated.
1017:  Interesting.  I could hear weak talk here at 12:32 at 6 level.  Wonder
who this could be?
1386:  Finally heard some audio, weakly at 12:34.  Still there at 13:05.
?Radio Tarana
1566:  Snippets of audio at 12:43 at 6 level.
1701:  Almost audio present.

Overall a good morning, considering the very modest 80' of wire.  None of these
audios were heard using the internal ferrite rod on the 2010.  Best reception
was when the antenna plug was partially withdrawn from the antenna jack.

...............Walt Salmaniw, Cannon Beach, OR.
