Just got the main 30 minutes before dawn this AM.... a GREAT Japanese
morning. It took me 20 minutes to get up the dial, with 42 audios and
more than half were 8s! It was mostly Japanese, though what I think
was Taiwan Fisheries was at a 9 on 738 (no audio on //s). There were
multiple showings of the lower power NHK synchro channels, though
none of those was better than a 7. The most remarkable was hearing
the NHK1 synchros on 963, running neck-and-neck 8s with the CNR
Russian Service.
The bottom third of the band was extraordinary, with NHKs at least at
7s on 531, 567, 585, 594, 666 and on up. A few of the regular
mainlanders were in well, too... but most were mediocre or missing.
As has been the case recently, the Asian signals really died off
about ten minutes before LSR and I had 612 DU and 1701.044 in audio,
plus a handful of DU hets.
It was pretty wonderful, actually :>)
