Lots different than Tues night here in Grafton WI. Tues night had little from Spain and was more northerly Europe oriented and things really picked up to Germany and further east in Europe around 0330 to 0420 GMT. Weds started out like Tues night with good cx to UK/France and the stunning Croatia on 1134 nearly entertainment level at 0045 with my local WISN phase nulled. It was even better Tues night around 0350. But then Weds something happened and even slightly northerly paths like Croatia seemed to suffer while it became Spain everywhere from center band to low band while high band was basically useless. As an example, 585 Madrid was S 7 while 580 was S 7.5 and 590 (mostly Toronto sports) was S 8 ! Weds other than just after sunset around 0025 when Virgin was decent, 1215 was all Spain when audio came up and little trace of the SAH with Virgin where as Tues night was 98% Virgin with a decent SAH. 1206 from NW France was lots better Tues night.
Later Weds real star is Madrid 999. Very CLEAR SS for minutes at a time and even without phasing, the het is basically ruining WMVP and the backgrounding Mexican. This guy seems too strong for an inland 50 kWer, but tonite sounds like I am in Spain here. Then again I've had suprising signals (not good tonite) from 20 kW 657 Madrid, but that's fadey while 999 can be loud 100% copy for minutes on end. Speaking of Spain what's up with 684 Seville ? There were super strong a year ago here, but honestly I cannot tell what the trace audio I can raise is. I had 792 Seville SER // others but no 684 RNE an hour ago. Is 684 Spain off or reduced power for repairs ? OK for Weds fun stuff. My nasty and seemingly OC on 972 is the undermodulated Libyan. Sirt is 50 kW listed but right on the Medit coast..I had clear AA Koranic mx from 0240-0245 noting nothing is close to strong on 970 on my TA setup here. For sure on 972 last night around 0400 was NDR in clear GG and I mean CLEAR, but then the cx were such that I felt I was in Germany. So..Spain is awesome tonite ... so.....well..lets see if I can get them on 1080 past WTIC noting phasing kills backend KRLD/WNWI and neither is very strong here anyhow. Hmm..on 1080, maybe traces of SS talk but there's a YV on that channel also if I run a SE wire rather than NE ones...anyhow...0300 it seemed like Spain's pips way under WTIC. Do SER stations have pips on the hour ? I'm not sure and didn't find any online reports suggesting so. But I am certain they use pips on the half hour and at 0330 the pips were there well under WTIC once again !
