You might check the car's owner's manual to see what it says about the radio. That's how I discovered I could reprogram the radio in my 2002 Saab 9-5 - the owner's manual explains how to switch between European and North American channel spacing (I guess they don't sell cars in the rest of the world). Basically, all I need to do is press the seek button when turning on the radio and it will switch back and forth between 9 and 10 kHz spacing.

I've done the same thing with my 1998 Toyota Camry Monday morning.
Unfortunately, I have no idea whether or if I can switch to 9 kHz spacing on
it's radio, but I also came across a fair number of hets going to the hospital
around 12:30 to 13:00 time frame. No audio noted, however. Sure wish I could
switch to 9 kHz spacing, though!.....Walt.
