A comment was made recently about how the solar numbers sometimes trailed reality. The number might be low, but conditions aren't very good. What does seem to be a slightly better indicator is the graphic of the Auroral Zone.

If it's larger and tending toward bright orange or red, things aren't good. Just an observation...
