A comment was made recently about how the solar numbers sometimes trailed
reality.  The number might be low, but conditions aren't very good.  What
does seem to be a slightly better indicator is the graphic of the Auroral
Zone.

If it's weak and lighter in color, conditions seem to be OK.  If it's larger
and tending toward bright orange or red, things aren't good.
