As others have already noted, there was much improved reception this morning. Started listening at 1445UT, and was still at it an hour later.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly): 774 JOUB 828 JOBB reasonable audios at several times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise): 153 R. Rossii //279 567 JOIK //594 747 JOIB 972 HLCA 1134 S. Korea //972 at 1458 1377 CNR1 //5030 various times 1503 JOUK //567 at 1520UT 1566 HLAZ at 1545UT. Same magnificent strength carrier as noted earlier, but the daytime lack of splatter seemed to allow the minimal audio through a lot better. Still hearing some near imaginary audio traces at 1710UT on quite a good carrier not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 279 R. Rossii 558 likely JOCR 594 JOAK; oddly, this one never really delivered the strength it's capable of 873 JOGB //774 891 JOPK //567 usually under something else, KBS1? (no //; JOWS might also have been a distant possibility) local CKMO-900 running OC only this morning! 918 likely China 945 CNR1 //5030 981 CNR1 //5030 1206 China likely, off frequency hum w/woman talking at 1533UT 1269 JOHW likely //1287 and often better strength?? 1278 2 stations w/SAH between them 1287 likely JOHR; not doing as well as expected given the conditions, but still delivering traces of talk as I compose this at 1700UT 1332 likely Japan? 1386 NHK2 //873 1395 a mystery; something to follow up on 1575 likely Thailand 1593 CNR1 //5030 Burbles in the splatter and noise: 585 seemed //594, so JOPG likely 738 a bit of a mystery, as seemed to loop DU (not Tahiti) at 1448UT; no other DUs noted 1242 likely JOLF 1359 couple of parallels possible here, but no luck with them 1467 likely HLKN? no parallels at this time 1512 traces of NHK2 s/off chimes at 1543UT (note that NHK2 s/off was at this time rather than the 1600UT listed for Wednesday night) to be honest, I probably missed noting down a number of these low level audios; they seemed everywhere at times. Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): quite a number at various times; surprising how hard audio was to come by sometimes best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
