Not an exciting TP morning in general earlier on, but now at 1520 UTC I'm getting audio on 1539 and 1548. 1548 was clear enough for a couple of minutes that I could have recognized the language, if it had been familiar. Definitely not the regular Japanese/Chinese/Korean TPs I run across.
73,
Is it possible these were trans-Arctic, Nigel? UAE and Kuwait? (especially
given Walt was hearing Farda later...though I suspect his antenna has some sort
of subsidiary link to the UAE because I haven't heard Farda yet in the morning,
and I'm just a short distance to the west of Walt's place)

Yes, I'm tending to think along the same lines Nick. I actually do
better for over-the-pole stuff from home than I do at the beverage farm,
as I don't have an antenna out there that favours that direction. Never
did get audio on 1575, but had a decent carrier there too. After my
e-mail I also heard some audio on 1458 which has me a bit puzzled.
Sounded like a religious broadcaster, so I suppose a relay from Albania
is possible. I've certainlly never heard Albania in the morning, but
with decent conditions the shortest day has a lot of possibilities.
