Hi Chris: Thanks for the kind words - I also have a 7600GR, and the Crate Loop really makes it tick.
I just wound a couple sense coil turns around the Crate Loop and fed it straight into the low-Z input on my Yaesu FRG-100B, and it appears to have more SNR than a Quantum Loop, although the Quantum Loop's internal amplifier makes the S-meter deflect farther. Since the output from the Crate Loop was S-7 and above, the extra amplification in the Quantum Loop base isn't really doing anything, so the Crate Loop appears to outpace the Quantum Loop. Good luck!
