Speaking of "block programming" (aka infomercials) KFWB in LA has been running them from 9 AM to 6 PM on weekends for a month or so. At least WABC calls them "paid programming" and "infomercials" on their web site (KFWB does not) and the hours they run are not prime time.

It's really sad that major market stations have to run this crap to improve their revenue. If you want news in LA between 10 AM and 1 PM on Saturdays and Sundays you're SOL. KNX has a cooking show during that time period. At least David G. Hall finally left; I wonder how long it will take him to trash KABC like he did KFWB and KNX. Shouldn't take long.
