Rob: I put "WC" into Barry's fuzzy unID site for 1270 and come up with two "sound like" possibilities: WCBC-MD and WCGC-NC. Both would be to your SE, AFAIK. The only station on 1270 that ends in Q is a 500 watt K station from MO.
Of course that doesn't rule out an FM (or even another AM) that they might have been simulcasting. Darned monkeywrenches! There are 2 AM Stations in Kentucky, and 2 in Tenn.....but I can't see anything that ties any of them to WCVQ?? Maybe it was just an AD???
