started earlier again today, 1330UT, and went straight through to 1600; didn't need to go to work today fortunately. A vastly improved morning over recently, but except for a couple of Chinese and Koreans, this was mostly a Japanese opening, as Dennis noted, though the big guns weren't exceptionally strong.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly): 774 JOUB at 1514UT; mostly a lower level, and barely heard s/off at 1600 828 JOBB at 1504 972 HLCA at 1536UT, KK talk by man 1386 NHK2 synchros, JOQC Morioka most likely? at 1515UT; unexpected in this category 1566 HLAZ at 1540UT and later (it's delivering weak audio at 1731UT as I send this) reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise): 594 JOAK 747 JOIB 747 873 JOGB at 1435UT 936 likely Anhui at 1537, CC talk by man 954 JOKR at 1525, pop mx, JJ talk 1242 at 1549, possibly JOLF 1287 JOHR 1422 likely JORF at 1507 and later, man talking on and on in I think JJ; fair signal strength but murky 1503 JOUK //594 at 1516; this was pushing to the next level up; pretty good signal, stronger than 594 at this time 1575 VoA w/woman in SE Asian language 1433; perhaps R. Farda mixing with it; didn't notice Farda later as Walt did, but then there was a lot of other listening going on then. not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 567 JOIK //594 at 1506UT 603 likely S. Korea at 1528; not //594 639 seemed CNR1 828 woman talking u/JOBB at 1542UT, Chinese? 1134 Korea at 1535 //972 1206 Yanbian, off channel, KK talk 1502UT 1305 seemed to be KK talk, so HLSV 1314 likely JOUF at 1515 fighting with IBOC? 1593 NHK2 synchros //828; not the more frequent CNR1 Burbles in the splatter and noise: 666 seemed //594, so JOBK 693 JOAB //747 at 1342UT Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 1098, 1404 best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
