Not for long. 4 for 99 cents, I bet you have to replace them often. The GE Reveal, and the Sylvania counterpart are bright and white. My tests show they don't come remotely close to rated hours, and I was running them 24/7 which means they should last WELL past rated hours. This test was run in West Columbia and now here in Silverstreet. Different fixtures. The 40 watt ones are as bright as 60's. These must be 90 volt bulbs run at 120..... :)
And eventually you won't be able to get incandescent lamps for home or they will be mandated to be expensive. I did however get a "box" ( what they came in from GE) of 40 watt Candelabra bulbs with the bent tip for $5.00. 4 bulbs to a blister pack and I think 8 or so packs. I guess I will be using those for years. In my dining room I have CFL's in the 5 lamp fixture than hangs down over the dining room table..... candelabra style. They are brighter than the 60 watt incandescents they replace. No interference. The TV is my interference culprit. And then there's the BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA power line noise. It gets into the high VHF TV channels. Powell NNNN POP email is powell at backroads DOT net > In my case, if even one "could" cause RFI, it is > not going to be in my > house!
