Listened from 1450-1545UT this morning, and, an interesting morning; better than yesterday for sure, with an emphasis on quality, not so much quantity. Several of the Japanese big guns had quite consistently good signals, and a couple of the Chinese rose briefly to quite listenable level. Things had pretty much faded by 1545, though 594 was still at good strength then. As has been the norm recently, the bulk of the action was at the low end of the band
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly): 567 JOIK stronger than its // on 594 at 1523UT 594 JOAK 639 CNR-1, caught the pips at 1500UT, and //5030 747 JOIB at 1538, best NHK2 at this time, but generally at the back of the pack 774 JOUB 828 JOBB 945 CNR-1 briefly at good strength at 1519UT, //5030 reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise): 279 R. Rossii...at this strength consistently for 10 minutes or more after 1500, but very clear; 603 HLSA at 1524 //558 ; both channels had two stations on them at this time 702 NHK2 //774 at 1515; by 1522, 2 stations; other might have been 2BL? 972 HLCA at 1504UT not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 612 two stations at 1505UT, and messy enough that couldn't tell anything about them 738 hum and CC sounding talk around 1515UT 774 definite Aussie EE talk under JOUB, 1516, likely 3LO 954 JJ talk at 1537UT, JOKR 1575 at 1510UT, likely VoA; only a brief visit Burbles in the splatter and noise: 558 2 stations, one was HLQH //603 693 likely JOAB very briefly 846 didn't seem parallel NHK1 873 JOGB //774 at 1513 1134 not //972 so Japan? 1314 possibly JJ talk, 1521 and 1542UT 1377 at 1531 seemed //5030, so CNR-1 1566 best it could do was this at 1522UT Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): most noticeable: 783 SAH, 855 w/hum, 1098 DU, 1242. There were a lot of carriers particularly in the lower band, with erratic fades up. best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
