Walt must have hit the band at exactly the right time, because I sure missed it. Listened around 1400, then again 1440ish, 1510ish, and briefly at 1544UT, and was surprised by how generally poor conditions were. (yes, tried a couple of different antennas) Having said that, practically every channel had at least a wispy carrier, there just weren't very many with enough oomph to deliver audio. (Walt, your 1503 was possibly JOUK)
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly): 828 JOBB at 1444UT reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise): 594 JOAK at 1402UT 747 JOIB at 1443 774 JOUB not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 612 likely 4QR w/DU sounding talk at 1513 639 CNR-1 //5030 at 1451UT 972 HLCA with usual big carrier 1566 HLAZ at 1544 Burbles in the splatter and noise: 279 presumably R.
