Thanks guys for all of your good suggestions, but a couple comments. The TV cable was replaced in the park 15 years ago. I found when they were putting it in, they moved it over to near my yard to bury it. The TVI QRN showed up ater that, but before it was across the street underground and I got no noise. Fortunately most people around me have Dish or Direct TV now, so no TVI issues any longer. The TVI QRN is little now. My neighbor had cable for years and when they moved the cable through the backyard the TVI started in. A low level, but still there. Of course then everyone except me had Charter Cable (The company that has filled Chapter 11). The neighbor later got Dish and the QRN went away. She got upset with the time table Dish uses, so went back to cable. The TVI came back up. Then she passed away and the cable was disconnected. The TVI went away again. The new neighbor has Direct TV, so again no issues. I can point my OTA TV antenna at the cable box across the street and get snowy pictures. There is no way that Charter Cable is going to spend money to shield their cable better, so I don't want it. 56K?, I wish!!! I would be in 7th Heaven with 35 or 40K!!! I connected last night at 11.6K. If everything is going well, I can sometmes get a whopping 28.8K. That is if I hold my head straight and dance the jig. hi. But no way.. 56K...That would be fantastic. My Web TV often is 26.4K though. It can go up to 56K, but I have never seen it. The telephone man says, 28.8 is it, here. The old phonelines are in the ground and I doubt they will be change very soon. But he did say I could get DSL for $1500 to my house. Most of you are used to noisy areas, being in cities. Here, my noise level is near zero. I want to keep it that way. Paul, thanks for the advice on Satellite Internet. I know there would be a HUGE issue with our Winter weather. So it would be a last resort. Maybe a Verizon cel phone type system for short periods. I spend much more time on Web TV than the computer anyway. Thanks again. No of the downsides from living in rural America. I guess I should be happy we have internet at all. The few people I know that have it use dial up but complain about how slow it is. Maybe I can find another Wifi or the one I have used will return? Maybe the people are on vacation. It is Spring Break this week. It was on last week.
