Think of it as wireless DSL or long-range Wi-Fi. Download speeds for EV-DO 
(Sprint, Verizon) and HSDPA (AT&T) average 1-2 Mbps, depending on factors such 
as signal strength and how many other data users are using the same cell site 
as you.
