It seems kind of odd to shut the station down because of a transmitter failure. Maybe the station has been losing a lot of money and this was perhaps a good excuse to pull the plug? I would think the license and facilities are worth a couple hundred thousand, even in Scranton in a downer economy, and a replacement transmitter would cost - what - $10,000? It seems like a prudent expenditure to protect their investment. WARM is or was a 5kw station at the bottom of the dial, so it should be worth something to a potential buyer, even if the owners need to unload it at a fire sale price.

It certainly would be a shame if WARM 590 is gone. It was such a great station in previous years when owned by Susquehanna. Is it now owned by Cumulus?

I've read that WARM-590 in Scranton, PA is silent due to economic conditions and a transmitter failure. Supposedly it won't be back on the air. Has anyone noticed this?
