Hi Group:
We picked our daughter up from college the weekend of May 2-4. I've been
meaning to put together a note about a couple of things noted on AM in our
travels. Here they are;
1360 WOEN NY Olean noted silent Sunday, May 3 (not even a carrier). Noted
on w/CBS news & the Limbaugh show 2/4, 1258-1310 LT, but no TOH ID, or local
spots, only dead air through the break. Sounds like it might be largely
unattended.
1550 WLFP PA Reserve Township noted silent 2/4, 1700, 1730 & other tiimes as
we drove by Pittsburgh. They were on when we were in Pittsburgh 11/3/08.
Anybody know if this is more or less permanent, or just a transmitter
breakdown. They seemed to be little moree than a "Lifestyle Radio" relay the
times I've heard them over the period 1/15/08-11/3/08.
Everything else in the circuit we made (Albany-Sandusky, OH-Houghton, NY-Albany
via Erie & Pittsburgh) was operating as advertised.
Also, I don't know whether I already reported that WBNS, 1460, Columbus, is now
//its FM, which has switched to sportstalk. The station now IDs as, "FM 97.1,
the Fan." Still some local origination but mostly ESPN.
