Word has come through that KCKK/1510 Littleton/Denver has been sold to 4-K's LLLP for $450,000. This is the NRC Broadcasting station that I previously worked for and that we spent over $1M on rebuilding with a new transmitter site in 2006 and 2007. Ironically the new FCC license came through about the same time as the sale authorizing an increase in power from 9.5 kw day/19 kw night to 10 kw day/25 kw night. The night signal primarily protects the 50 kw legacy stations in Spokane and Nashville.
BTW I am in the process of moving to Parker CO which will place me about 2 miles from the KOA transmitter. I expect to be off of the internet for a couple weeks most likely ditching my WebTV service and returning on hi speed DSL with a real computer.
