CFUN and CKST do not have local signals here in Victoria so maybe after they
fire up their new transmitters they will be listenable in this location.Since
going on ther air in Vancouver in 1986 with a rock music format, CKST
1040(formerly CKST 800and ex CJJC 800 Langley BC) was on an east -west daytime
signal pattern, changing to north-south at LSS ,which gave them local signal
strength here in Vic.(A test from Chilliwack in the Fraser Valley at LSS showed
them going from a fair signal to nothing). When changing to sports they went to
24 hr east-west pattern which washes them out at night due to fringe ground
wave problems here.CKST Personnel told me the reason that with north-south
pattern they would be interfering with a washington state station. If the new
location sends out a better signal it might be strong enough to get to Victoria
at night.I'm going to do a before and after comparison to see what the
difference will be.Bill in BC.
