Another excellent early season TP morning. With LSR now at 1320, I
got started at 1240 and things were already hopping. Virtually all of
the signals peaked right around TOH and were gone by 1315. In
otherwords, things are still running "early."
I had about 30 audios, with more than the usual number popping into
listenable levels at least briefly. The most fun was listening to 963
CRI RR Service at near studio quality doing their TOH routine. Also
real fun was sitting on 1089 at 1306 and having the signal rose to
intelligibility for 15 seconds or so. It was clearly the 10 kW NHK2
JOHB in Sendai doing the weather. I QSLed that station in '97, but
they are a semi-rare visitor at Grayland and I'm not sure that I've
ever heard them here.
1062 was also interesting with ttwo Asians... possibly DZEC and Korea?
1143, probably Taiwan Fisheries, continues to be just at threshold or
slightly above. 738 was poorer. Still, this is by far the earliest
that I've heard them consistently.
I really hope that the last week has been a harbinger of things to come.
