Hi Guy, With a serious sleep deficit after yesterday's Grayland trip, it just didn't seem like the right morning to get up early, and see which powerhouse TP's had enough strength to provide wispy signals in Puyallup. So I'm afraid that I missed out on the morning's action-- apparently without major loss :>). As the signals from Asia really pick up in September and October, however, I do plan to thoroughly investigate the performance of the new 8 and 9-foot sided PVC tuned passive loops here in actual TP DXing, and will be very interested in comparing your morning TP reports (using the broadband terminated loop) against mine. The daily "hit and run" DU peak in mid-August here was something that I never knew existed, until the new loops were built. It's safe to say that no matter what type of antennas we build here in this DX-challenged area, though, John and Walt have nothing to worry about :>) 73, Gary In a message dated 8/31/2009 11:05:35 A.M. This morning was a 99.9% complete washout for TP / DU signals making to my broadband terminated loop in Puyallup. I reviewed all Perseus WAVs from 1245 to 1330 UTC and found no hets or audio, except very weak Japanese audio on 747 at 1255. It lasted only a minute, and disappeared. I wonder if my pal Gary across town did any better...
