Hey Matt:

I wonder if the heavy smoke that I am now seeing (between the webcam's
150' tower and the broadcast compound) are backfires. This is the
closest "plume" that I have seen.

Subject: Re: [Tvfmdx] Mt. Wilson

Weather conditions today are drastically improved to recent
days...humidity has come up dramatically and there have even been a few
showers in the area. I can see the mountain from my window here, and
there is definitely something going on, primarily on the northeast side
of the peak. I have heard that they've been setting backfires and doing
protection of the mountain. If crews are indeed still up there, I think
much, if not all of it, can survive without too much trouble. But,
there's never a sure thing in these situations.

Looks like fire may be between the Observatory and the Tower
site. This
is too close! I'm not sure what the distance is between the two
areas
but I think that the Observatory may be in more danger than the
towers.

Last hour they said that it may be slightly improving but not
according
        to the webcam. Good luck!
