Hello, As reported by Walt and others, the morning's conditions were generally so-so, but the 738-BEL2 station in Taiwan continues its masquerade as a TP powerhouse, despite the lackluster propagation. I was lucky to catch its signal at the strongest during peak morning enhancement at 1322 for a nice MP3, which I plan to upload to DXer.Ca, and the Yahoo Ultralightdx file site. This was recorded on a C.Crane SWP Slider, assisted by a bedside 36" collapsible-frame PVC Loop. Other than 738-Taiwan the TP signals seemed average, and even 1566 and 1575 didn't have much audio. The Chinese big gun frequencies (639, 963, 1593) were pretty anemic. It was a forgettable morning except for the Taiwan MP3, which seemed strangely out of synch with the otherwise modest propagation. That station's ragged carrier may be related to the huge new signal strength, which is putting even the Japanese powerhouses in the shade here. 73, Gary DeBock Modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick) Modified C.Crane SWP (7.5" Slider loopstick-- sliding 40/44 Litz wire coil on Amidon Type 61 ferrite bar) 36" PVC-frame tuned passive loop _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
