Hello All, Strong Asiatic TP conditions continued for a second day here, with good reception of low-band Asians from 1325-1340 (very similar to yesterday). Besides the usual audio from 639, 657, 666, 693, and 738 (Taiwan Fisheries again, not Korea), there was very good audio from 675-VOV (Vietnam), from which I was finally able to record an MP3 without the usual 680 splatter (large loop antennas love to null out pests, but the nulls are much better outdoors, rather than next to the bed :-) I'll upload this morning's 675-VOV recording to the Ultralightdx Yahoo file site, to replace a weaker one recorded last year on a stand-alone E100 Slider model. As usual, the ability to tune 1 kHz down from the 680 splatter made a huge difference in the reception of 675-VOV, on the C.Crane SWP Slider. The recording was actually made on 674 kHz, but there was negligible drop-off in Vietnam's audio when tuning down 1 kHz, on this favorite hot-rodded Ultralight. 73, Gary Modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick) spotting receiver Modified C.Crane SWP (7.5" Slider loopstick + Murata CFJ455K5 IF filter) 36" PVC Collapsible-frame tuned passive loop _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
