Despite Colin's luck, my read is that things weren't a whole lot better than yesterday. Definitely no where near as good as last week or two. I started at 13:03 and listened past 14:00. Plenty of audio, but most lacked the punch of a really good morning. A very modest DU enhancement close to 14:00, past LSR. LW Russians weren't very good either. Here's my take, with "6" unless otherwise noted:
153, 171, 189, 279: LW Russians with 153 the best and 279 the worst! 164: 6 level possible Mongolia 529: SQM virtually absent today. Not a good sign. 531: Agree with Colin that this one was pretty good today at 8 level DU at 13:17 with music 540: Never eaked out Rhema today. 558: Asian with music at 13:23 567: Did hear NHK1 at 13:24 at 7- level. 576: Russian regular. Nothing at 13:20, but a solid 9 at 13:26. May indicate disturbed conditions. Probably my most regular "semi-exotic" TP this season. DU at 8 level at 14:00. 594: NHK1 at 8 to 9 level early, Australia at 14:02 // 612 with news. 603: pres KBS2 at 13:27 8 level. 612: 8 level Brisbane at 14:00. 639: 7 level early, presumably CC 657: North Korea with it's usual tirade at 13:29 8 level. 675: VoV at 7 level early, ?DU at 14:04 but too weak to be sure. 720: North Korea heard at 719.9 at 13:32 at 7 level. Comment: My take is that N.Korea is a bit weaker (as is S. Korea) compared to last season. 729: ?North Korea too? 7 level. 738: CC //1143 at 13:36 at 9 level (another really strong regular this year). 747: NHK2 at 7 only early. 756: low modulation not JJ at 7 level early. 765 774: 9 level JJ 783 792: KK at 7 level 828: JJ at 8 level early. Late I see 2 signals causing het on 828.0 and 827.897 (at 14:06). 837 846: 7 level early 855: N. Korea on 855.05 but only a 6 891, 909, 918, 927 936: 9 level CC at 13:48. Also a regular this year at good levels. Presumably Anhui? 963: CRI Russian early at 8 level. Also not as good as last year. 972: KK at 9 level early 1017: CC at 8 level early 1053 1089: CC at 7 level 13:52 1098: Big OC 1143: music at 7 level early 1152, 1161 1170: CC clearly audible under the very clean signal of KPUG at 13:54. I'll call it an 8. 1251: A jumble here today at 13:55 with 3 tx seen on 1251.027, 1251.004, and 1250.954 1287: JJ at 7 level 1440: JJ at 13:57 at 8 level. 1566: HLAZ at 8 level at 13:58 (stronger earlier) 1575: VOA at 7 level late (stronger earlier) X-band: modest appearance with carriers noted on 1638, 1647, 1656 (almost audio). Weak audio on 1701 at 14:07 I was still hearing Brisbane weakly at 14:20. Overall, at my QTH a very average morning.
