At one time, TIS stations could only operate on 530 and 1610, but that's
long since changed. They can now operate on any freq between 530 and
1700, or maybe 1710. Locally, we also have TIS stations on 1520, 1500,
1650, and maybe a couple of others. 530 is a very commonly used TIS
freq in the Seattle area - the State has several of them around here.
1610 is not used in the Seattle due to having locals on 1590 and 1620.

There are two TIS stations in the Seattle area. The dominant one is
operated by the city of Burien, which is between Sea-Tac airport and
Puget Sound. There's also one in Sammamish, about 15 miles east of
here. The Burien tx seems to get out quite well, Sammamish less so. I
can't say if you heard one of them, but they pretty much rule out
reception of China for me
TIS on 540khz?

Thought there were only TIS on 530 and 1610.
