Hello All, Once again the band seemed mediocre then alive, with a very short sunrise enhancement (1335-1350) boosting signals significantly. The 576-R.Mayak synchros were at their strongest of the season here with Russian at 1339, clearly audible through semi-local KVI-570 (a very rare event, with the modest Ultralight equipment here). The same brief sunrise peak provided a decent signal at 1343 from the North Korean on 621, in the null of Portland Pest KPOJ-620 (a daytimer here). Whereas Colin had a 603 mix of HLSA and the Japanese, I had HLSA mixing with the usual Mandarin Chinese station around 1348. 657-Pyongyang and 738-Taiwan Fisheries were "buzzing" right along this morning at 1353, with solid "9" signals from nasty-sounding transmitters. Overall, it was an interesting morning, but nothing new to log. 73, Gary DeBock Spotting receiver: Modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick) Main receiver: Modified C.Crane SWP ultralight (7.5" Slider loopstick + CFJ455K5 filter) 36" collapsible tuned passive loop (bedside) _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
