Hello All, Conditions seemed very favorable here, as the new 9' box loop continues to receive new Ultralight TP's at a fast pace. Thanks to the tip from John and Walt, the Russian R. Mayak was heard on 666 kHz mixing with NHK1 (JOBK) at 1355, with both of them at about equal strength. Some slop from 670-KBOI made it interesting, but as usual the Murata-filter C.Crane SWP minimized the slop when tuned down 1 kHz (to 665). Later on at 1412, CNR1 was heard on 1035 kHz with Chinese music, having somewhat weak modulation for its strong carrier. Its carrier had been received here frequently on previous days at good strength, but with weak threshold audio (similar to 756-CNR1). These two stations provided Ultralight TP loggings #98 and #99, which certainly would never have been possible without the new 9' PVC-frame box loop here. For a mediocre DXing location like Puyallup, this antenna seems to be a real $52 overachiever (as long as your neighbor can tolerate it :-) 73, Gary DeBock Spotting receiver: Modified ICF-2010 (30" loopstick) Main receiver: Modified C.Crane SWP (7.5" Slider loopstick + CFJ455K5 filter) 9' tuned passive loop _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca
