TP Report for 11Oct09 from Masset: VERY Interesting! A disturbed morning, initially at least with many deep fades noted and stations disappearing to be replaced by others many thousands of km away. A most interesting morning, with some wonderful catches with good audio. I listened between 13:30 and 17:39 (yes, that’s 9:39 am and still getting audio!). SF 70, A1, K2. “6” as always unless otherwise noted:
153: 9 180: 7 183? 6.5 189: 9 279: 8 531: Very exotic sounding Asian music not // to the other NHK1 stations at 13:57, but into network feed at 14:00 at 9 level. JOQG Morioka. US pop music at 14:14, so likely DU at good level too. 540 558: noted by it’s absence today. 567: NHK1 at 14:03 at 9 level. JOIK Sapporo. 576: again, noted by it’s absence. Initially tuned in at 14:28 to hear Tokyo dominant, but by 14:30 BD was so, especially by 14:31 when they completely dominated the channel with their EE news which continued until 14:41:20, followed by a commentary. Extremely clean audio from BD makes them an easy catch. I have some great mp3 files of this station. Yahoo! 702: 9 level at 14:44, North Korea. 711: 9 level at 14:50 with CC stronger than HLKA Seoul, but also a very loud jammer! 720: Probably KOTZ at 14:52 with NPR programming at very good level, way over CNR2 today. 729: 9 level music and talk cochannel 738: CC and cochannel x 2 at early at 9 level.
