I'm hoping someone with a lot of computer savvy can help me with what seems to be a simple problem. I'll be travelling soon for a few weeks and was hoping to be able to download my email to be read off line. My service provider is shaw.ca which when I'm at home nicely downloads to my Eudora. When traveling, the expectation is that you'll sign-on to their email server and read it there. Trouble is, this takes time and can be very pricey when overseas. When I spoke with their tech people, they say sorry, but it's not possible. Sounds like a poor excuse to me. I thought I had the problem solved when I started doing research into the issue and found that if I forwarded all of my mail to my Gmail account and downloaded these to Mozilla Thunderbird, I'd have solved the problem. Well, when I tried this this weekend in Masset, I was able to "download" the messages to Thunderbird, but when off-line, none of the content could be read and instead I'd get an error message saying that I was not on-line. All I could see were the subject lines in the in-box list. Did I do something incorrect? I followed the instructions found on-line to the letter. Hmmmm........Walt
