Hello All,
After last night's TA phenomena here on the west coast (in which
Croatia-1134 was received here on a stock Tecsun PL-310, at 0353), we were
probably
waiting for a legendary TP opening this morning. It wasn't quite like that,
but it was still significantly better than the last two days.
The second-tier Asian frequencies had good audio, with 891-Thailand
strongly dominating over JOHK at 1408 (MP3 on request) and a nice mix of NK
and
China on 621 (in KPOJ splatter). A decent sunrise peak occurred from
1400-1415, bringing up audio on my two frequencies of interest, 1107 and 1125
kHz.
A recording of 1125 had apparent Mandarin Chinese conversational talk, but
1107 only had the usual music again. These two TP stations certainly
aren't very strong, but both had better audio this morning (on the 9' box
loop)
than they have ever had before. Maybe tomorrow will be the day to ID both?
:-)
Hopefully John and Guy at Grayland were able to clean up on the west coast
TA's last night, and make the most of a very decent TP opening this
morning.
