Oh my, that was a bit of a ride.... Started listening around 1320, and all the regulars were in, but there was plenty of splatter as well. About 1405 things started to liven up slowly, and by 1420 some of the second tier stations were dropping serious field strength into the neighborhood. It still seemed a splattery morning however, so it was hard to ID the weaker stuff; on top of that, the weaker stuff tended to be Chinese with no obvious parallels, so were pretty much unIDable anyway. Also, although there were a lot of contenders in the "darn good audio" category, the regulars (NHK porkers, and 972) were really no better than other mornings, and at times 594 would fade under a couple of co-channel stations. In fact, I don't actually recall hearing 747 rise seriously above the splatter at any point, but I could have missed it.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly, though mostly pretty steady): 279 R. Rosii 567 JOIK //594 594 JOAK 639 CNR-1 at 1420 better than //5030 666 JOBK //594 briefly at 1345 738 quiet mx at 1433, seemed to be Taiwan, as IDd later w/parallel to 1143 774 JOUB 828 JOBB (something under it as well, but not ID'd) 936 mostly mx, some CC talk 1429UT; presumed Anhui 963 CRI in RR at 1431. 972 HLCA 1134 KBS //972 (this was strong, but so was the CKWX splatter) 1593 CNR-1 at 1449UT reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise): 189 R. Rossii; very clear, but weaker than 279 above 531 JOQG //594 but not this strength until 1431UT 558 JOCR was dominant when I checked, which HLQH under 603 two stations at least. HLQH dominant at time it was this strong, per 558 // 621 CC talk at 1427UT 657 KK talk and hum 675 presumed Vietnam, didn't get this strong until 1433 711 HLKA w/KK talk along with bubble jammer 747 JOIB (really) 873 JOGB //828 at least earlier 918 woman in CC with wonderful echo; something else there also 1017 CRI w/ chimes and fanfare on hour 1143 Taiwan Fisheries w/mx //738 at 1442UT 1161 oriental singing at 1425; Taiwan? 1170 CC talk dominating; likely VoA 1206 big hum and KK talk; 1411UT 1287 JOHR, but not until later 1566 HLAZ, never made it to the top tier not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 153 R.
