I don't really care where they are. Perhaps they don't know where they
are, as they ID as Gastonia and Barries list has them in Gastonia.
Barry's list appears to have some outdated data in it. The station moved
from Gastonia to Pineville (Charlotte) in 2005. (It changed calls at the
same time, from WLTC to WGIV.) The old WLTC tower, which was in the
parking lot of a shopping mall in Gastonia, is gone. The new site is off
Tryon Street just south of downtown Charlotte.
It was a move of 20 miles or so from the old site to the new site. Some
might count it as a new station as a result.
(Me, I'd be happy to hear them running their proper night power from
either location - there's too much going on at night on 1370 that
shouldn't be there, as we hear every time we drop carrier on WXXI to
check...)
